The five steps Andy outlines in "Bipolar Disorder; 5 Steps to a More Peaceful Life" are excellent. They are presented in clear, down-to-earth language from one who has "been there." Small things are often profound. Andy's book gives practical advice regarding small things often overlooked by others. I believe people with bipolar disorder, as well as their caregivers, can benefit greatly from reading and following them.

5 of 5 star rating. This book answers and poses many valuable questions to the one with Bipolar. It also offers EXTREMELY valuable insight into the life and mind of the person with this brain disease. It proposes 5 steps to take back control of your life and is very encouraging because it's written by someone with Bipolar who is successful at managing his disorder. 5 of 5 star rating. Andrew Hogan has brought to light the darkness that someone who suffers from this disorder dredges through in order to see the light of a regular day. My wife and I have both read this book, and highly recommend it to anyone who seeks to find out about Bipolar Disorder. This book is an eye opener to what I have been through over the past 27 years of my life and counting. Knowing someone who has BP is different from understanding what is going on with them. This book helps to educate both the person with BP as well as those who need to know more.

4 of 5 star rating. Ordered this book a couple of weeks ago to read then pass along to my mother and grandmother who also suffer with the crippling illness. I was discouraged at first by how thin the book was, and read it within a few hours. I kept telling my husband "this is my mom!" after reading a few more pages I said "this is MY teen years!" I can't tell you how comforting it was to read that another person understood me and my mom. I just wish the book had been longer.
